The group was formed in 2004 as a private web site dedicated to the various 6x4 Range Rover based vehicles used by both the military & civilian emergency services. The group has now encompassed larger types of appliances together with Land Rover based emergency vehicles. The group celebrates it's 5th anniversary in 2009 with some 200 plus members from all over the world! It has one of, if not the largest, collection of pictures of airfield fire appliances on the interent. see: www.thesixappealwheelgroup.org

For restauration, okay. But it's still a sad journey 😢. Best regards, Your friend Gerald
Thank you Gerald. Good to hear from you, hope you are ok.❤️
Lovely photographs, enjoyed seeing them. Thank you.
Thank you very much. They were lovely parents to me and my family are truly special to me.❤️
An uninspiring set of photos. Where are the vehicles.
Only taken you 11 years to find then!
Wot! No 1945 Monitor, no CO2 Gas Truck, no Mk5 or 5A and no Mk6? Not to mention the Bedford Water bowser and trailer pump.
To the RAF thank you for your service, support, sacrifice at all times.
Totally agree
By coincidence of seeing the planes being broken up, i worked with an RAF technician who had been working on their development for years and he watched the contractors come in and smash that work up. All that work for bugger all because they decided to go with the Boeing P-8A. Our government sure know how to 'waste' money.
Great Modelling Work...Looks Incredible...
Thank you very much, they are superb kits to make..👍
They are out of box kits just added my own advertising and destination boards of buses I used when young..😊
Both ,I might add now sold to collectors..🇬🇧💯
Myself & my pal Sam Smith at 56 seconds behind the Tornado taken at RAF Kinloss or Stornaway '91 or '92 👍
.....amazing to think that you've not shown a volleyball court, porn clips or anyone wearing a green 'village people' vest. Not the RAF that I remember 😅
He hasn't shown the gum boots, sea boot socks khaki overalls, leather armless jacket WW2 helmet and Cape with glass window curved rescue knife and the....axe and belt and you couldnt get out you chopper in a hurry. Scarecrow crash kit.
Thanks for all your views.
It was a great job. Sorry I left when I did.
Was the wrecked MK 9 near the end the one from Wittering that pulled out onto the A1 and got side swiped by a truck ?
Could easily get a ton out of the TACR 2 on road test down the A34 when I was at RAF Abingdon 🤣
I’m currently restoring the TACR2 in the first picture
Just showed my Dad this, he's ex RAF Fireman, Barrie Trueman. He asked where the photo was taken were there in khaki shirts and shorts? Many thanks.
In my day Mk5 mk5a, Mk6 7 ,,8,, drove Mk6 for ten years

Thanks for your memories!
WOW lots of faces from the past. I served 78 to 90 and enjoyed most of it.
All these models wear part of the RAF Gibraltar units at one point or another, very fast on the runway, good old days.
Thanks for all the memories... I worked with a lot of the vehicles here ... And the Proto BA .. I do look back with a tear ... At 58 you are blessed with hindsight and now wished I'd stayed in to try for 22
What's the story on the burnt out crash truck?
There have been a few MFV appliance fires. Some I believe we're from an overheating problem...
2:36 OP FRESCO West Midlands detachment. Provided cover during the National fire strikes of 2001-2002. This photo was taken behind a hanger at RAF Cosford prior to the crews deploying to their temporary fire stations from across the West Midlands.

The Davie lad, was with you there for a short time, never forgotten.
Spotted myself in one of those clips, good memories

Some Maltese colleagues and friends at 0.29; Charles Pisani, Charles Cioffi, Paul Fenech, accidentally killed after being burned while repairing his car at his mechanic garage who was killed too, John Borg, Francis Sammut, Tony Cammileri and my great friend and tutor John Briffa.
Where is the helicopter on the base ?
It was on the far side of the airfield between the harrier and phantom. \my friend took me through a gate over a field and it was lying in the trees/hedge...
I saw Andy Rees in one of those shots.
Very nice tribute!
Wonderful videos and pictures! I was a U.S. Air Force Crash-Fire-Rescue firefighter-EMT, 1972 - 77. I took pictures of several RAF and Royal Navy aircraft that visited Andersen AFB, Guam in 1973, while I was stationed there. I got to see a Vulcan, Victor Tanker, VC-110, and a Wessex helicopter. We are brothers in arms ...
